Time Stands Still

I'm not really a poet, so I claim no real structure to this...

when time stands still
the days have no end
darkness seems my only friend

weeks last forever
as each second ticks
slowly like a constant drip

step follows step
at a tortoise pace
hoping for the end of the race

when light will break forth
on this dim dark heart
and from His presence I'll never part

Lisa,

I followed your comment on my blog to visit yours. I am so comforted by the family of God in these days - and how we care for one another, grieve with one another and rejoice with one another.

Thanks for sharing your poem. I have often used poetry to help me work through many intense emotions.

Yesterday I used my preaching. I posted a sermon podcast in audio for download or streaming audio on my blog. It has some tears but also some hope and joy.

Thanks for your comments - knowing that other believers also grieve and have found comfort in God is comfort for our family too.

In Christ
Bill
